Elle founded Wisdom Out in 2006, just as she was completing her Ph.D. in Organizational Learning from the University of New Mexico.  Her research about the nature of wisdom in nurses revealed they had an astounding ability to transform adversity into growth, which in turn contributed to meaningful work and happiness in life.  These findings convinced Elle to broaden her scope and continue to research, write, and speak about wisdom in individuals, couples, and organizations in new and varied contexts.

Since 2000, she has conducted countless interviews of individuals and couples from all phases of life and in all industries, who are identified as being wise by someone who knows them.  What these Wisdom Makers™ have to say will be published in the forthcoming books, What Wise People Do, and What Wise Couples Do.

Along with her colleague, Dr. Douglas Reeves, Elle also co-founded Renewal Coaching and with Doug is co-author of the three book series called Renewal Coaching: Sustainable Change for Individuals and Organizations. Margaret J. Wheatley, author of "Leadership and the New Science" and other books, has this to say about Doug and Elle’s book:

Elle holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Illinois State University and a master's degree in education from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago.  Her work experiences include that of educator, entrepreneur, consultant, coach, and speaker. She is a Senior Professional Development Associate for the Leadership and Learning Center, is a graduate of the National Staff Development Academy, and is a member of the National Speakers Association. She travels around the country to speak about wisdom and to conduct interviews of those referred to the Wisdom Out projects.
